Teen & Adolescent Counselling
-
As a registered psychologist in Calgary, I offer counselling for teens and adolescents aged 12 and older. My work begins with understanding the young person as a whole. Their early experiences, relationships, emotions, and individual differences help guide the work we do together.
I began my career working with high-risk youth in residential treatment settings, where I developed a great interest in the role that biology, attachment, and trauma have on the developing brain. Working with adolescents is something I have always been passionate about.

Every young person, parent, and parent-child relationship is unique. I use my knowledge of attachment, emotions, and neurobiology to help families better understand a young person’s experience and find ways to communicate.
Depending on the needs of the family, this work may include individual counselling for young people aged 12 and older, support for parents and caregivers, or joint sessions. Sibling relationships can also be part of the conversation, including conflict, competition, and healthy boundaries.

Growing up involves making sense of who you are in relation to the people and expectations around you. Counselling creates room to explore self-worth, identity, relationships, and what matters to you.
My approach is compassionate and non-judgemental. Together, we can begin to understand the patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships that may be getting in the way.

I do not believe therapy is one size fits all. We begin by gathering a whole picture of the young person and how they have come to be who they are today. Together, we use this understanding to develop therapy goals and a treatment plan.
If you are considering counselling for a young person aged 12 or older, a free 15-minute consultation is a chance to discuss what is bringing you here and whether my approach is a fit.
